Emmy Fun in St. Louis
We came, we posed, we ate, and we ate some more.
Seven members of the HTV staff who helped produce "Homeless in the Heartland" last March traveled to the 2013 Midwest Emmy Gala in St. Louis in early November to receive their award, and to dress up nice and take lots of photos. Only Caleb Brown and Breanna Feemster, members of the team of nine who created the winning entry, could not attend the event.
"We had a great time, and yeah, took lots of cell phone pictures, and yes, we did sneak out early," said adviser Dave Davis. "We may or may not have made a run to Ted Drewe's for some frozen custard."
The acrylic award was placed in the HTV trophy case the next week, alongside 24 other awards from the Emmy folks. HTV is the only school in the state to receive a national student Emmy, winning three between 2004 and 2008. The regional awards continue each spring, but the national honors from NATAS ended due to funding issues.
