This weekend I had the amazing opportunity to fly to Atlanta to accept our award and present to the National Association for Education of Homeless Youth and Children, with some of my classmates. Our segment “Homeless in the Heartland” won an award from this organization. It was such an honor. I felt extremely blessed to be apart of this trip. Everyone in the audience was so amazing. They asked question after question. They were all very engaged in the video and our presentation. It was quite encouraging. The question that was most thought provoking was “what has this done for you?” It got me thinking about how I want this to change the way I view people. I don’t want to pre-judge ever. I am very much so guilty of this and I want it to stop. Doing "Homeless in the Heartland" gave me a chance to explore these thoughts and try to find a new viewpoint. I am thankful for the opportunity.
